1. Overview
Patient Analog respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 ("DMCA"), we will respond promptly to claims of copyright infringement committed using our platform.
2. Filing a DMCA Notice
If you believe that content on Patient Analog infringes your copyright, please submit a written notice containing the following information:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized representative
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, including the URL or location on our site
- Your contact information (address, telephone number, email address)
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf

4. Counter-Notification
If you believe your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notification containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the material that was removed and its previous location
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification
- Your name, address, telephone number, and email address
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district
- A statement that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original DMCA notice
5. Our Response
Upon receiving a valid DMCA notice, we will:
- Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material
- Notify the content provider of the takedown
- Provide the content provider with a copy of the notice
Upon receiving a valid counter-notification, we will:
- Forward the counter-notification to the original complainant
- Inform them that we will restore the content in 10-14 business days unless we receive notice of legal action
- Restore the content if no legal action is filed
6. Repeat Infringers
Patient Analog maintains a policy of terminating access for users who are repeat copyright infringers in appropriate circumstances.
7. Good Faith
Please note that under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be subject to liability. Before filing a DMCA notice, please ensure that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized.
8. Educational Use
Patient Analog is an educational platform. Much of our content involves:
- Commentary and analysis of publicly available scientific research
- Fair use of materials for educational purposes
- Links to third-party sources with proper attribution
We believe such uses are protected under fair use doctrine, but we take all copyright claims seriously and will investigate each notice thoroughly.
